Things that make you go hmmm...
I've recently changed jobs and there are a couple of things that still seem odd about the new office, even though I'm well past the initial period at a new job where everything seems strange ("...excuse me, what's the fax number here?" ""Which printer do my documents come out of?" "Why didn't someone tell me that I needed a key to get back into the office when I came back from the bathroom?")
So here's some stuff I can't quite figure out:
You need a key to get into the office. Considering the high-security environment at my previous workplace I should be accustomed to this but I consistenly forget my key and consequently am trapped in the lobby until someone wanders out and rescues me.
The bathroom has a smell machine -- a GOOD smell machine. There's this little box on the wall above the stalls that periodically releases a puff of scented air -- pffft! -- presumably to neutralize any foul odors that might be present. I am a little paranoid that it seems to happen every time I'm in there...is it just a coincidence or is it reacting to some odor I'm giving off?
There is a receptionist desk, yet no receptionist. The empty desk sits right in front of the door that I'm always forgetting my key to. There appears to have been a receptionist at one point because there's a PC and everything there...I wonder what happened to the receptionist?
