Hai-cool

My brother is quite the renaissance man....computer geek, literature major...poet.  Although I'd debate whether "urine" has two syllables or one.

The worst possible thing

Well, I was committed to taking the snowstorm in stride until The Worst Possible Thing happened. The cable went out. We called the cable company and were informed that the entire county was out and that we could expect it to stay that way for the next 48 hours.  You know, the one time you really, really need that cable to be there is when you're trapped in the house with nothing else to do, say, during a BLIZZARD?

I began to panic when I realized that I was probably going to miss Joe Millionaire. Gaaaah!

So my husband and I ran around the house looking for the little antenna thingy that goes on top of our tiny kitchen television in the hopes that we might be able to pull in a weak network television signal. Now, I'm fairly sure that that antenna thingy has been hanging out around this house for over a year but I guess we recently figured that we didn't need it anymore and, thus, pitched it. So we couldn't find it. But I did realize that the stereo in the living room has one of those, like, five foot long wire antennas, so I unhooked that, hooked it up to the TV, and ran it up to the highest spot in the house and placed on the highest piece of furniture in the room.  Then I ran around the room for awhile, holding the antenna above my head, trying to find the best possible reception. It turns out that placing the end of the antenna inside my closet provides a fairly clear signal. Good to know.

So all's well that ends well and I was able to watch the end of Joe Millionaire, about which I really have nothing to say besides the following observations:

  1. Evan made the right decision (much to my surprise)
  2. Someone needed to tell that blonde what was going on...she looked utterly confused ("Wait...you mean...you're not rich...and you STILL didn't pick me? I don't get it...so confused...need some wine...something not too grape-y...")
  3. It was oh so satisfying to see the two losers smoking on the balcony and being catty again. I really missed that.
  4. The "twist" was totally stupid and totally predictable, shame on you Fox
  5. I can't wait for the two-hour interview show
