"How do I refactor BC4J components to live in a different package?"

The JDeveloper IDE offers useful refactoring support, but unfortunately in the 9.0.3 it's not so easy to refactor BC4J components which are comprised of both XML and Java files.

In JDeveloper 9.0.4 we've improved the situation by adding a new "Move package..." menu option on a BC4J component to move it automatically to a new package, but in the meantime some of these tips for manually refactoring BC4J components into a new package in release 9.0.3 and before might be of help to you.

Make a backup of your files before trying any of these tips. Forewarned is forearmed. :-)

In JDeveloper 9.0.5, we've added new capabilities in the ADF Business Components wizards to have better control of the packages your components will be created in as well.
