After a quick Easter weekend getaway with the family, I'm sitting this evening in the computer room catching up on things work-related:

  • JDeveloper 9.0.4.1419 Now Downloadable on OTN
  • JDeveloper 10g (Build 1605) appears bound for OTN as JDeveloper 10g (v9.0.5.1) production this week.
My third-grade daughter is sitting at a little wooden table next to me: she wanted to work where I was working tonight, so we moved her little table into the computer room. She needed to finish up some corrections to a rough draft of a research project she worked on before the holiday about Natural and Man-made Materials. It's way past her bedtime, but she is on a roll and has to turn in the final copy tomorrow when school starts again...

One of the things that caught my eye among her rough draft pages to correct was her bibliography. Her existing bibliography -- listing in her words, "What I used to do my report, Daddy" -- had a single entry in it (in all third-grader earnestness):

  • I used my brain.

It brought a little grin to my face... I tried to better explain what the "biblio" part of "bibliography" meant, and I steered her in the right direction for redoing the entry with a few books and a web site that she used for her research. I think she looks good-to-go for tomorrow's big assignment due date now!
