If you have questions about the JDeveloper/ADF Technology Preview, please post them in the new Oracle JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview OTN Discussion forum.

As they say, "operators" (or should I say developers and product managers) are standing by to answer your questions on our latest technology...

Over on the AMIS blog, Lucas gives a quick rundown on one of my favorite new features in ADF 11g -- end-to-end simplification of list of values.

What's more, by creating List of Values based on view object with named bind parameters, and configuring the relative view accessor to drive the bind variables from attributes in the current row (declaratively, of course!) you can easily create cascading LOV's with no coding. We are working on a screencast to show how to do this task and we'll publish it on OTN when available. Perhaps after reading this, Lucas will beat us to it! :-)

Since these LOV's are defined on the model, they can be used by ADF Swing as well. In fact, the ADF Business Components tester that Lucas shows in his screenshots has been reimplemented in 11g using ADF Swing.

I've added example# 116 that illustrates how to include multiple levels of reference information in a view object that is automatically updated when the user changes the foreign key values. In the example, when the user sets an employee's assigned department to a different id, the related department name, location name, country name, and region name change appropriately.
