Hey all! Hope you are enjoying your summer, or your winter, as the case may be. I went to a little coffee house one afternoon over the weekend to hear a couple of friends, John Batdorf (formerly of the seventies group Batdorf and Rodney) and James Lee Stanley (famous singer/songwriter, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues and many more good ones), play the music from their CD of Rolling Stones covers. The CD is aptly called All Wood And Stones. Now I'm not much of a "covers" fan necessarily, but I must say these guys have created innovative, imaginative ACOUSTIC arrangements of classic Stones songs, with intricate guitar weaves, gorgeous vocals and unexpected melodic and rhythmic turns, resulting in a charmingly beautiful album. So if you're curious what an acoustic version of some of your faves would sound like, wonder no further ~ just check it out at
http://www.allwoodandstones.com. Their story is fun to read too.
George says his studio construction is nearing completion, causing me to imagine an EP of new songs in our future, further causing me to smile at the prospect...mmm
Have fun aspiring to being your most expansive best ~ it brings a heightened awareness at the very least, and more than that it's a guaranteed basketful of surprises! We LOVE surprises!
With love,
Shannon (and George)
