i was wondering about certainty, what things are we certain of, and i realized that we are very certain that the bible exists, because we can hold it in our hands, and we are also highly certain it is the best preserved, most documented set of ancient writings in existence. suddenly it hit me that maybe one reason we put so much emphasis on the bible is that it is concrete, and rather than struggle with issues of unbelief and doubt, we have a relationship with something we can prove exists, rather than pressing past that to know god, who is less tangible. 10:38:13 PM    comment []
