if you love to eat pancakes, but someone tells you that they hate pancakes because they are too garlicky, you know they haven't ever eaten pancakes, and if you really love pancakes, you will try to get them to actually eat pancakes before they reject them
people avoid jesus, they reject the hypocrite, the accuser, the wimp, the oppressor. the problem is that by avoiding these things you haven't rejected jesus.
if you want to reject jesus, you have to reject the healer, rule-breaker, lover, story teller, ...
