Signs of the Apocolypse #2

just finished a five day marathon video editing session. i love editing vidoes, don't ask me why. if you are/were at the emergent/ys convention in san diego, the little videos with quotes about the five senses came from these tired fingers.

now at last i can do fun things like babble on my blog at two in the morning.

the gospels vs. acts vs. the epistles

listening to someone preach on acts today my mind began wandering (not because of the quality of the sermon, but because my mind looks for any excuse to wander)

so in the gospels we have the story of the mother of all paradigm shifts, and in the epistles we have a pile of instructions for living, and in between them, dwarfed in size, there is the tiny little book of acts. we tend to give these sections of the bible weight in our lives based on the number of pages in each section, but i was wondering if maybe we should re-weight these three pieces.

the good news all over the gospel is not news anymore, and paul's instructions are not for people at the starting line, but for people running the race.

what does this actually mean?

i don't know, i was just wondering.
