I guess it's about time for some long overdue party reports, live and direct from the "Gentse Feesten" (GF from now on). Although not primarily known for its good music the GF have sprouted some kickass parties if one has the patience to go the extra mile and search around a bit.

The most obvious one and also the most expensive (most of what happens at the GF is free) are of course the 10 days off. While the membercards (11 nights) are pretty cheap for the fun you'll have, the day tickets are just too expensive so, since I couldn't lay my hands on the limited number of cards, I decided to be very selective at which evenings to attend.

Last Friday was the first one and with Roger Sanchez playing it was a sure bet, but still it turned out to be better. Not many people showed up at the ICC (which is located outside of the center, probably the main reason for the low attendance) but those who did clearly were there to party. And party we did. Roger provided the crowd with some great house music (I'm severely understating the greatness of the mixing and the superb music choice here) and the people just let go. The party closed at 6 (we were allowed to move over to the Vooruit, which was nice) but we left happy and worried at the same time, because we had to admit that it was very doubtful that this first evening would be topped.

More later.
