I find the hypothesis that advanced individuals living in advanced western societies are no longer evolving to be novel and fascinating. The clearest refutation, for me, is the point that responsiveness to pharmaceuticals remains a source of selection. Similarly, the best counterpoint seems the fact that the overwhelming majority of diseases don't strike until after child-bearing age.
