The Wall Street Journal has an article about different technologies used to monitor the driving habits of teenagers. I've long been convinced that such things would be common by the time my kids are driving (less than 6 years away, now).
Surprising to me, there is no mention of accelrometers (to measure how much force is generated going around a curve).
The article also points out a subtle benefit--peer-pressure inoculation. Teen Passenger: "Let's see if we can beat them to the mall". Driver: "Can't, the car has spyware installed".
