Today's Prayer Request from Pray For China
China sacked its health minister and Beijing's mayor after they reported an alarming spike in SARS deaths and cases in the capital, a tacit admission that officials had earlier hidden during the extent of the disease. They also canceled the weeklong May Day holiday to discourage people from traveling and further spreading the disease. Let us pray that God gives the Chinese authorities wisdom to decrease the painful experience that SARS brings to the Chinese population. Pray also for the churches in China that SARS will not affect their meetings and worships

Mongolians of Mongolia
"Mongolian Buddhism had a great history, but 70 years of communism has torn down everything," commented the Mongolian Buddhist monk during an interview. When asked about the impact of Christian missionaries, he replied, "Almost 70 percent of Mongolians are young people, and concern has arisen that many of them will adopt Christianity, because the missionaries make it attractive to them. But I have observed strong feelings of Mongolian identity among the young people."
Mongolia is a country of 2.5 million people, and it is experiencing a number of problems that are throwing it into a crisis. These problems include unemployment, poverty, inflation, an increased number of street children surviving in deplorable conditions, and political instability. Another increasing problem is alcoholism, which has become the leading cause of death in men.
Over half of the people have rejected any religious affiliation. Others are shamanist, Buddhist, or Muslim. About 18,000 identify as Christians. This number is far greater than it was 10 years ago.
Pray that the Mongolian people will turn to Christ to guide them through their multiple problems. Pray that they will trust Him as their only source of truth, peace, and well being. Pray that the Church will take hold among Mongolia's youth, bringing in a new era of blessing.-PD
"Therefore I want you to know that God's salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen" Acts 28:28
The final scene of the book of Acts is a familiar one-Jewish leaders arguing with Paul about who should receive God's blessings, Jews or Greeks. We can picture Paul shaking his head and quoting Isaiah's description of Israel's spiritual callousness (28:26-27). Paul's audience had not listened to the prophets or to Jesus, and now they rejected Paul as well. Paul wanted them to realize that their hardness of heart was one reason for his focus on the Gentiles. The book of Acts ends as it begins, with God's concern that the church proclaim His salvation to all the nations.
Father, show Yourself strong on our behalf as we bear the name of Jesus to the unreached peoples.
