Former newspaper editor-in-chief freed but two of his journalists still in jail [RSF]
 28 August 2004 - Editor-in-chief Cheng Yizhong (picture), arrested for reporting on the SARS epidemic and that police beat a student to death in Canton, was freed on 27 August after five months. Reporters Without Borders welcomed his release but called for two of his colleagues .[more]
