CHINA JAILS DISSIDENT AT START OF PREMIER'S U.S. VISIT (RFA)

The authorities in the northern Chinese city of Xi'an have handed down a two-year jail term to a former schoolteacher on subversion charges ahead of a meeting between the country's Premier Wen Jiabao and U.S. President George W. Bush in Washington, RFA reports.
