Human rights committee to advise sponsors of  "New York in Shanghai" trade show (LRF News)

A New York-based advisory committee, including the Laogai Research Foundation, Free Church for China, Human Rights in China, China Catholic Information Center and the Falun Dafa Information Center will provide monthly reports to the recently formed New Majority Trade Mission, headed by NYS Senator Malcolm Smith (D-Queens). The monthly reports will detail intensified religious persecution in China, particularly toward Roman Catholics, House Church Christians, Falun Gong practitioners, and Uyghurs, as well as the plight of the common people in China who seek democracy, the right to organized labor, and the right to free speech. These reports will stress concerns regarding the need to reassess economic relationships with China as detailed in Congressional testimony by the AFL-CIO. (more)
