Sony fingerprint ID device comes to Mac OS X. Sony's FIU-600/M Puppy fingerprint identity device now comes with Puppy Suite fingerprint authentication software for Mac OS X . The device is designed to replace passwords as a solution for securing access to desktops, Web sites, and critical applications. The FIU-600 unit connects via a USB port and authenticates users based on their fingertips. XSLT Training, Day 2. XSLT has long been a tool I've used, but as little as possible. Before and since that gargantuan PowerBook was introduced, peripheral makers have sought to offer other laptop computer users similar functionality with USB-based keyboard illumination systems. Mikegyver.com's newest offering, the iLite, may interest folks looking for a small alternative. The iLite is a USB mini light -- barely more than a USB interface with a white LED bulb attached to it. It's designed to work on any iBook or 12-inch PowerBook (or PC laptop) that sports side-mounted USB ports. The bulb lasts for thousands of hours, according to the manufacturer, and causes minimal battery drain. [MacCentral] 9:37:18 PM |
