There must be alot of activity going on with LinkedIn.
For some wierd
coincidence I've received simultaneous requests from several totally
different networks, all mobile related. I created an account sometime
in May, but never bothered playing with it. Probably because I thought
it would be similar to Friendster, the other popular social-networking app. Friendster was fun, but only got my attention for about 2 or 3 months. I must
admit that I didn't really use it to meet new people with similar
interests except for a couple of times. Now that I look back, I used it to see how many people I
could get into my network. Must be my ego trip. I
logged-in to LinkedIn, and connected myself with people that I already
know. I
wonder why I didn't try to meet new people? Too much of a pain ...
Maybe it's because of this cold that I got right now. Not enough
motivation. I really should try to explore this space to get a better
understanding of both the technology and the possibilities of
digitizing our social ties.
I just bumped into this interesting piece titled, Missing the Point of Social Networks. I guess I missed the point ... Other interesting reads on Social Software / Social-Networking:
