AEC Dimensions and Grids. When working with structural grids, differentiating between the grid line itself and other geometry within the drawing through different linetypes is done to make the drawings easier to read. Using the default OOTB setup the grid extension lines use the following linetype: CENTER2

Eleksen Introduces Electro Fabric. DigitalDame2 writes "Eleksen, a small UK-based firm is introducing electronic fabric, essentially carbon-embedded nylon sandwiched between layers of nylon mesh that, when a milliamps charge is passed through it, can recognize touch, pressure and even the direction and path of a stroke. This thin, flexible, and washable fabric connects to a small 8-bit processor, which then can be connected to a standard electronic device like an iPod. Eleksen company executives said the washable fabric can also withstand extreme pressure; they've rolled a car over it without any ill effects." [Slashdot]

Like it or not, you LAs, all, must come to grips with digital video...

Back when the US was first considering digital TV, computer graphics pioneer Alvy Ray Smith argued that the new standard should eliminate legacy video baggage such as interlacing and non-square pixels. That battle was lost years ago, but the debate looks amazingly like the bellhead/nethead conflict that's going on now. [Hack the Planet]
