soon, this blog will be moved, due to the radio userland shutting down without any notice I might add (ok so there shutting down in december but still I didn't receive any notice except some obscure posting on their site), sexymagick will be moved its own hosting platform, so if you have us linked through the radio userland URL number or just in general bookmarked, change your links to www.sexymagick.com.  Over the next few days, I'll be moving over to wordpress, hopefully my archives and pages will all come over intact, although I can tell you that most likely comments won't make it over, we'll try to move those without losing anything.

Overall, I think its probably a good idea to start moving earlier than later and wordpress has so many more features than Radio, I guess it time to move on, a fresh start like so many before me who have made the move.. as soon as I get everything moved over, I'll post a how to tip for all those other salon blog and radio users that need to move as well.

ok, here's the thing, I wasn't notified via email and I don't check in here often enough nor do I check the discussion boards that much anymore, thank you chris for commenting on it, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it. Was Userland plan on telling it customers? I just signed up for another year, are they going to refund me my money for the difference? How about paying me for the time its going to take me to move my whole blog over to another location? Are they going to help people move their blogs somewhere else or just as of 12/31/09, that's it, see ya later? It just not my blog that's going to disappear but all my comments as well over the years.

Here's the official notification but seriously I think sending out a mass email would have been more appropriate than posting it in an obscure location on their site.

I was planning on moving my sexymagick blog over to wordpress and hosting it somewhere else eventually but I thought hell why should I do that, I'm a loyal fan of userland

Now I'm going to have to do it sooner than later and there's not any real means to extract all my comments and move them over and I've gotta start redirecting/putting up links for my accutane journal somewhere..holy crap, that's like another job in itself to start moving this somewhere else, so much for userland being a loyal fan of its users.

Although I do wonder how exactly can someone get into a master's program and ride other people's coat tails and not exert any effort whatsoever, I'm not sure I like this idea of a team paper, if we get an A, then its because of the people who did the work and its not fair to the ones who actually do the work to have to do someone else's workload. Are UOP Learning Teams like a social experiment? We have to do team evaluation for the teacher after each team assignment but I wonder if our individual evaluation's on the team members have any bearing on the outcome of the grade for each team member?

A social experiment that I recently heard about, the class was about socialism.

That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism".  All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. So is that how it works with these learning teams? I want an A so I'll do my best no matter what and I'll continue to write the papers because I want an A in the class. These learning team evaluation always ask how these team assignment will help you both professionally and personally.

I'm not learning much about being a member of a team except 

1. some people are merely followers and not leaders and I don't want these people on my next team
2. some people don't exert any effort and ride on others coat tails 
3. if I want an A, I'm going to have to write the papers
4. how to play nice with others and don't run with scissors

Street Food - how to find it all, with so many different options out there how to do you keep track of them all? I work right across the street from Spencer on the go and yet still haven't figure out exactly where he'll be when the truck pulls away from the restaurant.  You could follow sfstreetfoods and get device updates on location of potential street vendors or you could check out their aggregator of Twitter pages from local food carts which might be a way to keep in touch.

And that new law for street food vendors in SF, the 1000.00 permit per month to operate in SF Parks - what is the city trying to do, discourage new businesses? 1000.00 month is a steep price for a small street food vendor. A general business license in SF is only 150.00 a year for a business with no employees. Why the outrageous 1000.00 fee per month, its not per year, it per month.  I'm wondering though if all the street food vendors became one entity, would they then only need to pay the for one permit, one license?

Everyone keeps telling me that I'm stressed that I need to relax and yet I don't feel stressed, do I look stressed? I know I look tired but I don't feel stressed, I feel calmly relaxed, the bills are paid, the team assignment is done. 

Well since I have the day to do as I wish, I should get to the client's office before they realize I haven't been there all weekend...then maybe I'll just finish all my assignments early and be done with that extra stress. It's not like the weekly discussion questions have anything to do with the assignments, you'd think they would all tie back in, wouldn't you?

you know what amazes me - how can someone get into a masters program that does not have a command of the english language? or for that matter can't spell? use the spell check if you can't spell - its there for a reason. And those that don't have a command of the english language, I have no idea what you're trying to ask me or discuss with me, it doesn't make any sense - might be why I just don't answer.

My new favorite place to buy bras is Lavinia Lingerie, yes I did finally find several bras that fit and that are pretty, a little more expensive than the average bra but honestly I don't want to wear a bra that looks like I'm wearing my grandmother's bra. And I've come to learn during this great bra hunt, that some women are bottom heavy, demi bras and balconette bras fit better; some women are full size and all that extra room at the top they fit into; some are top heavy and a shelf bra fits them better and basically every women is different and not all bras are the same and apparently not all american manufacturers know this. strangely I have gained almost 30 pounds in the last 6 months, far too much to be gaining and I contribute to a few things mainly my horrible diet, energy drinks to stay awake and lack of exercise since my I've started my masters program and working, I seem to never leave my desk or my chair and its seems that I hardly have time these days for normal things like cooking healthy dinners or going grocery shopping, let alone try to finish working on my house and I realize I've gotta change this routine, I need to balance school and work somehow and start exercising daily. I've always wondered about how to get from point A to point B using BART and a bike but I've never wanted to carry my bike on BART (and its odd times you can get on BART with your bike anyways) or deal with having to lock it up or lug it upstairs to whatever office building I'm working in and if you know anything about SF, most older building don't have elevators, anyways, I think I found a solution for the bike and BART issue - the folding bike, read a few reviews and I think I'm going with this one: Citizen Gotham Bike. Its on my list of things to buy soon (after I pay my bills of course) and after I start riding my own bike, which starts today, I'm going to check out Iron Horse Trail this afternoonish when it cools down a bit and then tommorrow will ride over to my doctor's office - the distance it about the same, I'm sure that I can ride 5 miles but we'll see how that goes. Last night I got on the treadmill for 30 mins, walked a distance of 2 miles and I started eating healthy again. This extra weight not only is hurting my back but my self-esteem took a nose dive and my energy level seems to be non-existence. Time for a change, its gotta go...bad bad extra weight..
