Vermont GOP elects Officers

Jim Barnett is the youngest Republican state chairman in the nation and he states "Many independent voters and voters who have traditionally supported Democrats are finding that they share the Republican Party's strong commitment to job creation, lower property taxes and the right of parents and children to have equal access to Vermont's best schools," ...  "We have an opportunity to earn the loyal support of these Vermonters by continuing to fight for issues they care about."

More on Iraq

Here is another story on the Iraq situation that to my knowledge was not widely distributed.

What's wrong with this progressive way of thinking ?

Recently I heard two very interesting commentaries regarding job creation.  Ellen David Friedman, vice chair of the Vermont Progressive Party and Vermont-NEA organizer presented "Stemming Job Losses".  Dr. Russell Roberts, Professor of Economics and the J. Fish and Lillian F. Smith Distinguished Scholar at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University presented "Why Are We Losing Manufacturing Jobs?".  Ok, let's review.  The government is not an income producing entity right? ... right? ... right.  So who is the largest employer in the State of Vermont?  It would seem the government is according to the Department of Employment and Training.  Clearly growing the existing bureaucracy is not the solution to the challenge of job creation.
