Family Rules

My nephew has been involved in a serious car crash. With a closed head injury, bladder damage, hurt liver, broken pelvis, spine broken in several places and more, I don't currently know his prognosis. I'm not sure he has woken up since he rolled his car.

While I don't live the life of a twenty year old with my nephew's problems, I am reminded once again that it is family that is most important to me.

A manager came to me today to ask whether he should cancel his vacation in Italy with his wife and children over a data loss we have experienced in his company. I asked him whether we were covered and if he had done all he could do to remedy the situation. As he responded, "yes," I asked him what he would be thinking most about when he is eighty years old - a missed two weeks with his family or a data loss at our company. Family rules.

I've linked some work-life balance sites for you. I could use more so I am looking for recommendations of useful sites.

Warmly,

Susan
