I'm back with a book to recommend and an ongoing saga of a strategic planning process I am participating in with a client.
First of all, I am happy to be included in the planning of the HR function for a growing corporation. We have established ten goals with accompanying action plans for this year. An interesting ah-ha I have had in this process, is that most department heads have a couple of plans. I have ten. This is indicative of the range of the HR processes in which you need to participate for contribution and credibility. And, for line managers, you need to look at these to understand the contribution ability of your HR team or person.
Think hiring process, performance management, training. I think you get my drift. Look forward to the article in which I delineate all of them. Coming soon ...
The book?
Much to learn for all of us to apply to our day jobs and very good for those part time side efforts we hope to grow. I especially liked the last chapter by Jay Abraham. Check it out. I took many notes.
