Dear People,
We spent the most wonderful ten hours at the folk festival today. I walk away in awe from listening to "the irish singer of the decade," Cathie Ryan and Ralph Stanley, blue grass performer for 56 years at the Great Lakes Folk Festival.
I'll recommend several CDs tomorrow, but wanted you to see the quality of the entertainers in traditional music today.
Of course, I was an early attendee at the folk festival on the Toronto Islands where I visited for years in, I believe, the 70s and early 80s. I can remember the anticipation I felt as we rode the boat to the island. Prime time Utah Phillips and many more.
