November 15, 2000 1118am CST You know, I think there is something fundamentally wrong with the way most middle-class American's take vacations. We plan an itinerary of a week or two, cramming everything we possibly can into our limited time. Vacation for some of us is more stressful than our day-to-day lives. We go someplace and hurry around to see all of the sites before we have to leave. I think people should buy one-way tickets to their destinations and stay there until they want to go home. At that time, they can buy a ticket home. Of course, this would be too expensive for most of us, especially if we are travelling abroad, but it would give people time to relax without being pressured by the impending return home.
