February 20, 2001 1050pm CST Tonight I must stay up late, for my roommate needs me to give him a ride home from work at 3am. So I am here by myself trying to amuse myself. I have been reading some of my source materials for my research project, but I thought I might take a break. So I will tell you all how I spent my first day of freedom. I woke up late and took plenty of time to get ready for the day. Then I went downtown and got a haircut. Then I went to the library, where my privileges to borrow have been restored. I checked out several volumes on the validity of Anglican orders and then returned home home. I stayed there for about half an hour until my buddy Brian called me. Brian is making a movie for which he needed a voiceover. So I went to his studio to record it. After we finished, I chatted with Brian for a while and returned home yet again. When I got back, my roommate was lying on the couch, exhausted from his long day of class. I was hungry, so I made us some spaghetti and meatballs (which I had never made before). They were pretty good, but I ate a little too much. Anyway, I did a little reading then. After a couple of hours, Dave told me that he needed to get his car fixed (he broke the door handle in a recent freeze). We took his car to the shop and I dropped him off at work. Then I came home to do a little more reading. I also submitted some on-line resumes and took a look at my monster.com account. People are looking at my resumes. I am pretty excited! Freedom is wonderful.

February 20, 2001 252pm CST Well, I am on a sabbatical of sorts. I have taken a month off of work to finish my research. This semester will be my last as an undergraduate, and I wanted to make sure it ended strong. So until the end of spring break, I will not be reporting to work, but instead to the library, where I will get my schoolwork done. This is an opportunity I have never had. I have not been in college without also holding a job. But for the next four weeks, my job is not a concern. I shall write this paper without the additional pressures of working. When I return to work, I will be one step closer to fulfilling my graduation requirements.
