March 10, 2001 830pm CST Bush Intervenes in Airline Strike I don't know what to think of this. In general, I tend to dislike labor unions, but I also recognize that organized labor helps to provide reasonable compensation for skilled trades. Government intervention seems to throw a wrench in the way labor negotiations work. The union has no leverage if the government stops them. On the other hand, it would be pretty bad if the travel industry shut down, and I am very glad that the strike won't begin next week, since I have tickets on Northwest during that time. Harumph! March 10, 2001 1243am CST I am actually making real progress on my senior research project. It doesn't seem like it will ever be finished, though. I'm getting really nervous about it, though I know my anxiety is unfounded. I am getting to the point where I feel like I am wasting my time if I do anything other than work on my paper.
