April 28, 2001 203pm CST I have decided that the Chinese buffet is the best cheap restaurant meal one can get. Growing up, I hated Chinese food. It turns out, I had just never tried the type of food that I like. When I spent the summer of 1998 in Italy, my host family absolutely loved the stuff, so we had take-out several times. My host-mom would say to me "La cucina cinese e la migliore nel mondo." I got a chance to try some different dishes while in Italy, and I truly loved them. So on my return, I started to patronize Chinese restuarants a little more often. Last night, for only the second time in my memory, I went to a Chinese buffet. For five dollars, I could eat as much as I wanted of dozens of dishes, many of which I had never tried before. It was wonderful. No more fast food for me - this stuff is much better, and no more expensive. 2:12:59 PM    comment []
