August 7, 2001 251pm CDT Issue #1: Extended break from blogging. As you may now know, I went on vacation. Then my computer broke. Then I moved. Then the new internet service didn't work. I'm back.
Issue #2: New Job. I am an assistant manager at the Walgreens in Belton, MO. It is a bit of a drive from where I live in Shawnee, KS, but I am really enjoying it. I help customers, build displays, order things, count money, and the like.
Issue #3: New Home. I now live in Shawnee in a single bedroom apartment which was bigger than the two-bedroom I moved out of. I like the area, and the proprietors of local businesses are all quite nice, but I don't really know too many people here.
Issue #4: Shaving supplies. Why did people ever start using shaving cream? I'm serious. In my medicine cabinet I have three different types of shaving lather products. One can of Gillette Foamy Shaving Cream, one can of Edge Pro Gel, and one cake of Surrey Deluxe Shaving Soap. You know which one works the best? The shaving soap. You know which one is the least expensive? The shaving soap. You know which one contains no propellants or bulky packaging? The shaving soap. You know which one lasts the longest? The shaving soap. Once upon a time, everyone used shaving soap, but then they all switched to shaving cream from a can. Recently they have gone to gel, which is a big improvement over cream but still not as nice as soap. So what gives? They don't even sell shaving soap at Target.
While I am on the subject of shaving I must mention the Gillette Mach 3. Everybody raves about it, but I remain a skeptic. After all, it costs like 7 dollars. I am going to try a three blade system from another company and see if it works better than the trusty Gillette Sensor. I'll let you know.
