I went to see Harry Potter this afternoon. It was an altogether good movie, if a little slow. Some parts of the film were tedious, others downright laborious. And this from a guy who has actually sit through all seven hours of the Soviet version of War and Peace in Russian. It was also a little darker in tone than the book was. But it was quite impressive from a visual standpoint. The sets and costumes were perfect, and the special effects were second to none. Emma Watson's Hermione Granger was quite well done, and Maggie Smith's Prof. McGonagall was fantastic. I give the film a "B."

I've given up on preparing food for myself. Yup, that's right. Too much effort is required to prepare food for one. I actually enjoy cooking and things, but not for just me. After all of that cooking and cleaning, even a simple meal becomes a long chore.
