So I decided to try reading some Tolstoy - you know - just for fun. Now, Tolstoy's work is not the kind of thing that I would normally read without being required to by a class. I have read quite a bit of Tolstoy, though, as I actually took a Tolstoy course in college. But the experience of reading Tolstoy for fun is quite a bit different from the experience of reading it for a class. Anna Karenina is actually quite an engaging story; it's a lot better when you don't have to sit through lectures about it.
