So I was going to write about it last night, and apparently a bunch of other bloggers have beat me to it, but I highly recommend that everyone take a look at Rod Dreher's recent piece on granola conservatism on National Review Online. I guess I fit in this group. I mean, I am undeniably a conservative, but I just don't fit into the conservative mold when it comes to aesthetics. Of course, maybe the "conservative mold" is just a clever creation of the liberal intelligentsia. They have managed to convince us that conservatives uncritically accept the mass-produced rubbish which passes for culture these days. And no small number of conservatives have followed suit -- relishing suburbs, strip malls, and Starbucks (ahh... the irony). But it's not true. We can be just as authentic as they.
