Police targets for 2004-2006
New targets for the Scottish Police for 2004-06 were announced today.
The targets have been jointly agreed, following detailed consultation between the Executive, the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland and the conveners of police authorities and were revealed in an answer to a Parliamentary Question.

Push to stamp out gun crime
A nationwide guns amnesty is being launched today in a drive to reduce the number of illegal guns on UK streets.
Anyone with illegal or unwanted firearms is being urged to hand them in without the need to fear prosecution

Lawyers get crime-cash reminder
A campaign to ensure lawyers do not get caught up in criminals' money laundering operations has been launched.
The Law Society of Scotland, police and the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS) have been holding a series of seminars across the country designed to raise awareness about the ways gangsters might try to exchange stolen for clean money.
