Gutenberg bible digitized
A website allowing scholars, historians and anyone interested in the history and significance of printing to explore in detail the British Library's rare copies of the Gutenberg Bible, the oldest surviving printed book produced in the Western World, has been launched. On the site you will find digital images of the entire text of the Library's two copies of Johann Gutenberg's Bible, the first book to be printed using the technique of printing which Gutenberg invented in the 1450s [Peter Scott's Library Blog]
