Calling all devs, calling all devs!

OK developers...one of the great things about being an evangelist at Microsoft is the cool technology and the people.  Yesterday I got both.  Pascal Belaud is a Microsoftie in France who built this awesome tool called Olymars.  It is a code generator that can build applications based on a SQL Server or MSDE database.  It runs off the tables and builds production-quality C# code classes and presentation WinForms or WebForms.  You can have it generate based on templates you have created.  There is even support for the .NET Compact Framework!

Dweller came to my office and said "you gotta see this" and Pascal demonstrated it for us.  It really works well and it is totally free (I have seen similar tools go for thousands of dollars).  If you are a consultant or a developer who gets tired of writing the same CRUD stored procedures, then all the ADO.NET code to tie it into your application and then all the code to tie it into the presentation tier, then Olymars is for you.

Guess what's coming soon?

Yes!  The Toshiba Portege 3500.  PC Magazine's Editor's Choice.  I had read all the Tablet PC goodness from Scoble but dweller and the fact that this was the one I could get through our internal hardware ordering site made it the choice.  Dweller can be very convincing, maybe that is why he makes a good evangelist, and would not give up convincing me I should go with a Tablet instead of a regular laptop.  I hope I get it soon and will let you know how my experience goes.  My geek cred will go up a whole point now!

It's back up and running.  So now all those RSS aggregators can get my scoop again.  Thanks Radio!

Gnomedex

Have you heard.  Gnomedex 3.0 is happening again July 25th and 26th in Des Moines, Iowa.  It is a groovy shindig that Chris Pirillo put together so that geeks can get together and "connect".  Not your typical "so when the garbage collector does a G2 collection..." type of conference but where you actually get to meet all types of people who are interested in technology.

I noticed that Microsoft is a sponsor and that the speakers from Microsoft are TBA.  I would like to know who is going and I wish I could be one of the speakers.  I assume Beth Goza will be there from Microsoft since she was there last year.  I read a few blogs and saw pictures from last year and thought it looked fun.  I suggest you go look at it and check it out.
