"Conversation. What is it? A Mystery! It's the art of never seeming bored, of touching everything with interest, of pleasing with trifles, of being fascinating with nothing at all. How do we define this lively darting about with words, of hitting them back and forth, this sort of brief smile of ideas which should be conversation?" Guy de Maupassant

Opening up Possibilities

Got this in my mailbox this morning - a really simple and neat introspective exercise - a nice reminder to take a step back ... and many steps forward !  My researcher mind jumps at the opportunity to use this little exercise as a tool to better understand a certain segment of consumers too :)

Here is one of lifeís pathways, showing how we grow. As we evolve, our focus gradually shifts from outer desires to inner desires, then to inner needs and finally to outer needs.

Desires - wants of the ego.

Needs - fundamental experiences of our soul.

Some questions you can ask yourself :

Where does your focus predominantly lie at this time? Which quadrant holds your largest list? To which area do you direct most of your energy? Which area would you wish to direct most of your energy ? Which area would you like to change ?  What would you want each quadrant to hold - in the short term, in the next 10 -20 - 30 years ?
