"Conversation. What is it? A Mystery! It's the art of never seeming bored, of touching everything with interest, of pleasing with trifles, of being fascinating with nothing at all. How do we define this lively darting about with words, of hitting them back and forth, this sort of brief smile of ideas which should be conversation?" Guy de Maupassant

Blogs - Playground for Testing Ideas

I've had messages from some of the people who really generously commented on this post - they're curious about my experiment - so i thought i'd share my reasons for it.  Three basic reasons i had :

A picture named blue pic.JPG

  • at a purely personal level - the picture was evocative to me - i was curious about images, senses and feelings it evoked in others
  • i'm developing a set of pictures i can use as moodboards across research studies, ranging from motivational research to creative development studies and semiotics.  While i'm getting these ratified by 'consumers' in my research studies, i thought i might broaden the scope and bring in as many dimensions to the senses it evokes, from a much wider and global audience

  • i want to use this as an example to show how blogs can be used as a great research tool - i got so many responses so quickly and from people all across the globe. When i shared it with a client who is slowly getting turned on by the idea of blogging - she said to me - "wow ... it really works !!!"

Here's the next in the series ... looking forward to your responses once again ....

What is this picture saying to you?

What senses does it evoke in you ?

What sounds, images and smells come to mind ?

What or how does it make you feel ?
