"Conversation. What is it? A Mystery! It's the art of never seeming bored, of touching everything with interest, of pleasing with trifles, of being fascinating with nothing at all. How do we define this lively darting about with words, of hitting them back and forth, this sort of brief smile of ideas which should be conversation?" Guy de Maupassant

Downloading via digital radio

Now isnt this cool !

PureDigital Bug

Downloading via digital radio

Why do we have the funny feeling that if this were sold here in the States that someone would end up in prison? Only available in the UK right now, PureDigitalís Bug can tune into digital radio broadcasts, record them, and transfer those  copies to a PC (via SD card or a USB cable) where they can be burned to a CD or transferred to an MP3 player. There are even more models on the way.  [Engadget]

What does a 'Full Life' mean to you ?

Thought i'd share this exchange i have been having with dancing_fool (i don't know who he or she is - seems very anonymous somehow) in the comments to this post :

dancing_fool : "interesting, how you're so caught up, fascinated and eventually swallowed into the virtual world. I know you're going 'eh what'. But so it seems to me, observing a city so caught up with work and technology, that they forget that the real world exists. Cant blame em, because there is utter lack of clean air and open spaces in good, old, polluted and oft-raped bombay. Incited, provoked by my thoughts ? - feel free to debate on skype, my id there is 'dancing_fool'. Otherwise, adopt an ostrich attitude and surf away : ) "

me : "Dancing_fool - what's to debate when i have a real life in a real world with a real family and real friends (some i have met - others i havent still they are real friends), real work, a real place to live, a real get-away retreat in Khandala, and the opportunity to live such a full life in a real city like bombay :):):). Surfing the real life is FUN !

dancing_fool : "yeah, I know....you must be used to the utterly polluted atmosphere. Its because maybe you havent seen a life any different or beyond what surrounds you here. And so, I dont find the idea of living in air conditioned environs at home, commute to work and then back again, very appealing. I dont even believe in wasting all my life working 9+ hours a day to work (unless you really love what you are in, which is rare) I have a right to clean air (for which you have to go to khandala, etc) and yes wide, open, green spaces too where I live , not where I have to get away to :) Hey tell me what do you mean by a full life? Other than meeting friends Other than going out to eat/drink or dance to lame, unoriginal music Other than watching tv Other than going to the movies Other than doing mainstream stuff like shopping or going about your obligations to the real world or surfing the net. I would be curious to know, since that is what I have observed here; and to me that's quite dull."

me : "dancing_fool - interesting question - whats a full life - isnt that completely subjective ? a full life to me is when i feel every moment counts - one where i feel 'alive' in the present - one where i welcome the future - one that allows me to grow as a person - one in which i can embrace differences and appreciate contradictions - and most importantly one that puts a smile on my face every morning and ever night. Now thats what i call a full life - and i strive for it in whatever i do :)"

What made me want to blog this was the last thought - 'what is a full-life to you' - and i'd love to get some feedback from you on how you would attempt to describe what a 'full life' means to you.
