I've been getting a lot of complaints that my blog takes ages to load.  Its something i've noticed earlier and haven't been able to resolve yet. As starters, i am cleaning up the home page - have removed chatango, the guestmap from my right panel - i wasn't using them much, nor were my readers.  I'm also allowing only a week's posts on the home page as opposed to the ten days i had on earlier. 

One suggestion has been to disable comments and i'm not going to do that !  Though i may need to cut down on images in posts.

There's a useful site optimization tool that runs diagnostics and gives suggestions [link via Matt Mower].  There are some useful tips i got from there - and i am going to seriously look into this.

Do let me know if the changes are noticeable in terms of upload times !
