I'm baaaack. And where have I been? Did I go on vacation? No, sadly. Did I retire from commenting, as the liberal whacko neo-communists hope? (Praying is un-American, remember.) Wrong again, still. Did I have a massive computer hard drive failure forcing me to take way too much time to patiently rebuild my entire 200Gb system from scratch (including almost 90 "updates" to the swiss cheese of operating systems company's product, micro$not windoze XP)? YUP!!! You got it!
After nightmares about failing hardware and software, I think I'm back - finally. I've wanted to throw all my computer crap over a cliff forever, but I've also learned a lot (more!) in the process, so, hopefully, this won't happen to me again. I've also learned further (DUH! - as if I didn't already know) that Hewlett Packard (HP) and Compaq are complete scumbuckets! Yes, I know, I shouldn't say that, inasmuch as it disrespects perfectly good buckets filled with scum, but I can't help it, especially after spending four and a half hours on the phone with them today (really!) just to get a couple of questions answered (one of for which I actually found the information while I was on hold for 1 hour and 31 minutes - really! - and then used to EDUCATE THEM because they were too stupid to have an answer!).
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM HEWLETT PACKARD (HP) COMPAQ, unless you like having a splintered wooden stake shoved up your ass without lube, leaving you bleeding and dying in the gutter! (HEY!, Wait! - Isn't that what the democrats do to us? Oh, yeah....) I could probably write about what a bunch of fuckheads these Compaq morons are in far less time than it took them to answer my questions; I'll have to decide later whether or not I want to have any more of my time wasted by them. In the end, *I* answered one of the questions and trained them how to answer the question for the next guy (Compaq should pay me!), and the second question was answered by their tech support stupidvisor David, who said that they don't actually support the stuff they put on their own driver updates site because they don't have to - they already have my money, and I am, afterall, only a lowly customer. COMPAQ SUCKS. DON'T BUY ANY COMPUTER HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE FROM COMPAQ OR HEWLETT PACKARD (HP)!!! (I'm pushing this issue so the search engines will find this post; the more sales I can take away from Compaq, the better for humanity!)

In spite of what her bosses, who have IQs below room temperature and arrogant egos larger than JUPITER, say, Julie is one cool chick, and any man incapable of seeing this has his head firmly stuck up that hole on which he sits. Maybe I'll go back and fill in a few of the entries that I was unable to post (a lot has gone on in the last three weeks!), which I am able to do because of Mark Paschal's really cool Radio Userland Kit. Thanks, Mark!
The only "good" thing about being down, if you can call it that, is that I didn't get hit by the latest worm from some internet hacker worm who has attacked micro$not's wormy operating systems. It's laughable, really: worms write the software, worms sell the now wormy software, worms exploit the holes and hack & cripple the wormy software. At least I'm not a victim of that. Others, though, are. Did you hear that Cal Berkeley has had something like 300 of their computers hit? The idiot libs up there were spending much more time spewing blather than they were patching the wormy holes in their numerous computers' OSes. Serves 'em right! bill gates doesn't care - he already has their money, kinda like Compaq!
On another note, I'll get around to commenting on California "governor" gray davis fighting extinction "like a Bengal tiger" on a different day. Idiot libs, stay tuned; I'm sure you're dying to have your blood boil again - although I'd prefer it if you'd just go ahead and die!
