Make way for the contender to Google's crown
The site is DOS'd, but try later... Turbo10 really is that good [The Register]... [Emergent Report: The Emerging Technology Weblog]
I can't look at it yet, but the Register article certainly makes it sound like the next best thing.

eBooks Corporation partners with the home of the www
...At Book Expo America today eBooks Corporation announced that it is collaborating with leading international university and research libraries to develop an ebook lending platform. Ebook Library or EBL is scheduled for release in select university and research libraries in September and will be officially launched in January. [LISNews.com]
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is leading this effort, just as it led in the development of the world wide web. This little announcement could signal the beginning of a major development that will greatly impact libraries. It's a development to watch if we want our students to be prepared for what they will find at their universities.
