Encouraging Library Use Use library services and get rewarded for it [Channel News Asia] [Library Link of the Day] The UK has The Big Read, and now Singapore is giving prizes to people for using their public libraries. The Big Read The winner of The Big Read was announced yesterday, and hardly anyone was surprised that Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy was the winner. There were several children's books in the final 100 and some in the final 21, but I think the Lord of the Rings is really a book for all ages. The Big Read has really been a wonderful program. I wish the US could have something similar. Oprah's book club just isn't the same thing. 5:14:02 PM    comment []
