Confidence in Research Skills Internet snags for young. Using the internet at school can lead to teenagers losing their confidence and becoming frustrated, a new study by a North lecturer claims. It's not something I've been aware of -- students losing confidence and blaming themselves when they can't find the information they need. In fact, my experience has been that students are much more confident about their skills than they should be, and they therefore don't realize what they're missing.
