'Saddam tape' scorns WMD claims

Oh, and yes, we certainly will believe Saddam Hussein. ROFL!

A Discussion on Troop Deployment

How about this great commentary from A Collection of Thoughts? I seem to always agree.

If I see one more article about how sad and unhappy our troops are, I'm going to scream. The media is full of stories describing the soldiers as sad and heartbroken, they miss their wives and kids, the dog and the pool, they miss their job and college and want to come home. Boo Hoo. I fully support our troops, always have, don't get me wrong but what's with all the whining? Are recruiters lying? Did these soldiers honestly believe upon joining the service they would never leave home and never be deployed anywhere? I hear some of the wives of 3rd ID soldiers are raising hell because their men aren't returning home right away; did they realize their husbands were soldiers when they married them? Was there a full comprehension of the jobs and duties of soldiers in times of war? And what's with these short deployments? Three to six months. During the war in Southeast Asia, deployments lasted one year unless a soldier died or was seriously wounded. During WWII you were in until you either died or it was over. It seems to me if what the media reports is true, a number of folks were delusional when they joined the service. Thank God the young men who served in WWII weren't whiners who missed their dogs and demanded to come home right away because it was too hot. We'd all be speaking Japanese or German right now. Let us remember a soldier's priorities: Duty, Honor, Country.

Tension High on North - South Korea Border

How much longer is it going to be before full-scale war breaks out between these two? It amazes me the other Asian countries seem to be doing nothing to prevent a possible nuclear attack by North Korea. Their leader is a loose cannon who spouts nuclear bullshit almost daily and yet nothing!
Machine-Gun Fire Is Traded at Korean Border. The episode raised the question of whether the North had precipitated the episode as a dramatic reminder of its military presence. By Don Kirk. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]
