I've just scuttled back from seeing X2. From the opening title -- Marvel's credit alone is almost worth the price of admission -- to the supported but unexpected climactic scene and the denouement, and all the way in between, this is a spellbinder for Xmen fans! It's written for fans of the Xmen -- that's the point, I think -- and it's super, enough so for even those who haven't caught on yet to become fans. (However, if you really don't have any interest, stay away so the rest of us can get in.)
Cast, director, production design, photography, effects (visual and sound), music, costumes... And wonderful touches! Twice during the movie references are made to The Once and Future King -- and not hard to miss. Action and plot twists? More creative changes of direction than your Tuesday night origami class!
