I ordered OneNote Beta. Installed it last Friday and have done a few things with it. I will have to get a stylus to write on my new Toshiba laptop. OneNote stores handwriting as a picture on laptops. One has to have a tablet PC to have convert handwriting to text.

One of the many great things that is available on OneNote are the tabs on the right side of the writing area. I can imagine a half a dozen tabs just to the right of this entry screen with the categories on each one. The blogger could have the option of a password on any or all of the tabs. One could also have the option of renaming the tabs.

I like it.

Back to Work

Today I was again knee deep in change orders. Revisions of estimates and wording. Each change order is a new part of the contract and must be written the same way as the contract language. It's much like code, one can't change much and still make any sense out of the result. Mostly I write change orders about the civil engineering part of the contract, clearing, excavation, asphalt, fencing, lane stripes, traffic medians and the like. The sturctures are done by another engineer across the aisle from me.

The contract will be finished in August 2003, we have nearly 100 change orders presented and their total value is around 10 million dollars.
