Yesterday we went out and bought a new 80 gig hard drive and 512 mb stick of RAM. Last night I shut down the LianLi, replaced the old 256 RAM with the new, took out the three hard drives and replace them with the new 80 gig Seagatge.
Lynnette had attended the roll out of Win3K server. Now we have a platform to install the evaluation copy of Win3K enterprise server. Open SCSI CD-ROM drive bay install disk, NO BOOT. Awk!!! Win3K didn't have the ability to boot from the SCSI drive. After 3 various tries, we intalled the Win2K server basics, formated half the disk, then slapped the Win3K disk into the machine. Off we go with a new install. No problems whatsoever, one just has to remember to be attentive, don't leave the disk in the CD-ROM bay when the system reboots, it will start over. Like normal.
We have become so used to the time it takes to install these server systems.......................
After the final boot, Lynnette configured the IP it was off the Microsoft for 3 upgrades. We had to allow security to go to Microsoft with a handy pop up window that said in so many words, "allow or not". We quickly downloaded the updates that was it for the evening. More tonight on the OS.
