Today was another day in paradise. This morning it was a cool 63 degrees, maybe a touch of fall in the air and this afternoon it was 80. Not a cloud in the sky, a slight breeze was gently coming off the water of Elliot Bay, and we haven't had but two days of rain since the first of July.

I will say, the medians and the grass along the highways have been well burnt this year. Our WSDOT landscape architect stated that when an acre of roadside is burnt the value of the mature trees, shrubs and grass is about $80,000. It takes a lot to keep the roadside looking good and safe for those who can't keep it on the road.
