Lynnette joined me at the Cingular store as I was wrapping up the details of the call back. We noticed a great anti-Bush rally in Steinbrenner Park. We joined the fray and hollered for awhile about the lack of jobs, loss of environment, and invincible stupidity. I took a few pictures and we moved on to the Pike Place Market to buy some great organic berries, greens and tomatoes. We then walked to our favorite but seldom visited bakery to purchase some cranberry oat bars and bread. We then headed home along Western Avenue which runs from the Market to our house which is 12 blocks north.

Goo, goo, googley eyes. I seem to remember a song with those lyrics. Well, I didn't get a chance to watch the traffic snarl, it was already pretty well backed up from some earlier incidents. I walked on down to the Cingular store to get some information on upgrading my cell phone to the Motorola T720. I have only had my phone for 15 months and was told that I would have to wait until 17 months to upgrade without penalty. As it turns out, that will be just as well as Motorola is coming out with a new T6000 phone which will have a lot of great stuff. Good form factor, picture phone, and dual band GSM. We get a good trade in on the old phones. So I will wait another two months. I left my phone number and the salesperson said they will call when the phone is available. I have several phones so I'm sure they will be pleased to remember to call.

The Bush speech at the Ice Harbor Dam near the tri-cities and Hanford on the Columbia is the acme of Invincible Stupidity. Last year the administration released so much water into the irrigation system from the Columbia that 33,000 salmon perished. The worst fish kill in our nation's history. Bush is rambling on and on with such abandon that his speech is incapable of understanding.   "We have a great energy problem in this country and we will not be breaching dams. The quality of fish life, can do attitude, conservation issues, filing lawsuits, and now we're on forests in Oregon. The reason why is because people just file lawsuits, the kindling piles up and we must find solutions to the proplems. Future generations can say that we had a chance and they responded. There is not doubt in my mind that you will accomplish something. My mind is still focused that we will protect America and we will hunt the terrorists down and bring them to justice. Free counties will bring peace to other countries. At home we will preserve our assets and bring a good income to our families. God Bless You."   On the TV screen there is a picture inserted with salmon swimming around. Now Bush is working the crowd. Bush has the worst record of conservation. He is here to talk about environmental issues. A very select group is in the crowd of 700 and all of them are supporters except the token Native Americans. Of course Jennifer Dunn and George Nethercut were in the crowd sucking up to the boss. Bush will be in Bellevue for lunch and then the at Hunt's Point home of Craig McCaw to beg for money. There are allready 30 protestors at the site. Of course he would not come to Seattle, the home of an entire town of Democratic protestors. If you get to read the text of Bush's speach unedited, you will be amazed by wandering scope of this address. More later about the massive traffic snarl that will be evident as the Bush entourage travels north on I-5 and across the SR-520 bridge and back again to Boeing Field.

Another memorial is in the making. Maybe not 50,000 yet, but a few brave soldiers here and there and pretty soon you are talking about a lot of sorrow. Why is it that America's leaders think that they are so gifted and send troops into harms way for their own aggrandizement? Maybe because there are no communist wars to fight any more a new "enemy" must be found to take away the focus of the American people from problems at home. When Washington D.C. is full of memorials to fallen soldiers and the tombstones dedicated to folly are covering the ground, maybe then the American people will stand up and say, no more.
