The Alaskan Way Viaduct was shut down for part of the weekend to check it out for any additional defects. Only one new crack was found and was not thought to be of significance. Hopefully it won't fall down on anybody.

ON the news this evening there was a report on learning in schools. It was noted that math and reading were pushing out social studies because of the need to pass the tests that the government has set up for the schools. I would say that a constituency that does not know about social studies is often led to the wrong conclusions by the established government. If one doesn't know history, one is destined to repeat the same mistakes.

I got a cold. An instant one, probably one that was lurking around at the barber shop. Friday I walked into work and by noon I was starting to clog up. A chest cold on Friday night and then a head cold on Saturday. I'm spending the weekend at home in bed. Darn, we wanted to take a drive to Wanatchee and buy some fresh apples and pears. Maybe later. I'm getting better, I can read.
